Pick Your Own Strawberries

Strawberry season has begun! We will have some pints and flats available at the Montpelier Farmers Market (Saturdays, 9am-1pm at 133 State St.) and local stores. PYO is $5/lb. Feel free to bring your own baskets/containers or use the flats we can provide.

Good strawberry ripening and picking can be very weather dependent, so hours will be determined on a day to day basis. Please check here first or call (802) 881-3240 to get up to date information on availability.

7/3/2026 - Final Update of the Season:

The last flush of strawberries are ripening in this heat and it is almost time to begin the renovation process. We will be open Friday, 7/3 from 4pm-7pm and then open for our final U-Pick day of the season on Saturday, July 4th from 8am-1pm.

Now is the time to clean out the patch and get all of your processing projects done and so we are putting a sale on bulk quantities: if you pick 10lbs or more of strawberries, we will drop the price to $4/lb!

Thank you all for joining us this season. We've been through frosts, rains, heat waves, and picture perfect days this strawberry season. It's been great fun to have you all out to the farm. We have already set in motion plans to expand the patch next year!

7/1/2026 - Heat wave update:

With several heat advisories out, we are making the call towards safety to limit PYO hours for today and tomorrow: we will be
OPEN on Thursday morning from 8am-12pm
**Please leave all pets at home and ensure you have everything you need to stay safe as it gets hot very quickly out in the field!

As of now, we plan to be open on Friday for our regular weekday evening hours of 4pm-7pm. Saturday will likely be our very last day of PYO for the season! Look for an update on Friday to confirm.

6/29/2026 - Monday

We will be OPEN on Monday, 6/29 from 4pm-7pm. After a great weekend of picking and a wave of hot weather, we are moving into the end of our strawberry season. There is a lot of smaller fruit on the cavendish and wendy beds, while the jewel still holds full size berries for those willing to rustle through their denser leaves.

6/27/2026 - Sunday

We will be OPEN Sunday, 7/28 from 10am - 2pm

6/25/2026 - Weekend Forecast

It looks like the rain should work itself out overnight tonight,  leaving us a beautiful weekend for picking. Giving the patch some time to dry out in the morning, we will be OPEN SATURDAY 10am-2pm. Please call if you would like to pick other times. We will assess the patch at the end of the day tomorrow to confirm, but we tenatively plan to be open for Sunday as well.

6/25/2026 - Thursday Update:

Its been such a joy having you all out this week and the picking has been fantastic! Beautiful fruit is still coming out of the field every day and this morning's walk still found loads of ripe fruit. We will be OPEN TODAY from 4-7pm.

Tomorrow, looks a little less perfect. We will post a final call in the morning but as of now it is likely we will be CLOSED on Friday.

The weekend looks lovely, however and we plan to be open for most of the day Saturday and Sunday. Fruiting is at its peak right now, so next week is a big question mark. Come on out soon - it always goes by so fast!

6/22/2026 - Full Week Forecast:

Finally! The weather appears to be breaking up into some truly sunny warm days this week. For this upcoming week, the tentative plan is to be OPEN EVERYDAY FROM 4pm-7pm OR Call to make an appointment for other times. The evening is a lovely time on the farm, the berries are usually dry (which helps with shelf life) and this schedule will allow the farmers to get a few other things done. That being said, please do not hesitate to call if this schedule doesn't work for you! We want everybody to have a chance to enjoy the harvest: (802) 881-3240.

6/21/2026 - Happy Father's Day Dad!

We will be OPEN Sunday June 21st 9:30am-7pm**

Another big flush of berries have ripened and today will be a great day to fill some flats for processing, baking, freezing, etc. There is likely to be some thunderstorms at some point this afternoon. Come fill a few flats to bring home and enjoy as they roll in.

**Please be mindful of the ever-changing weather forecast before you leave your home. We do not want anybody caught in the field during a storm. As of now, we plan to be open all day but will take a break for inclement weather for your safety**

6/20/2026
We will be CLOSED Saturday June 20th.

The patch needs a chance to dry out after lots of rain! We plan to be OPEN from 9:30 AM onwards Sunday June 21, as long as the thunderstorms hold off. We seem to be entering peak production this week so fingers crossed for lots of nice dry days!

6/19/2026:
We will be OPEN Friday, June 19th from 10am - whenever it rains!

After a lot of luck yesterday, the strawberry patch got a good rain without sustaining too much damage. A steady breeze this morning is drying things out, giving us a good window to pick before the next wave of storms.  The next few days look... questionable. There's a chance of rain/storms at all times for the next few days. We will continue to monitor and look for opportunities to open when we can, but today seems like your best bet!

6/17/2026:
We will be OPEN Wednesday, June 17th from 4pm-8pm
We will be CLOSED Thursday, June 8th

Another beautiful day is upon us. Tomorrow will most certainly be stormy and a no-go for strawberry picking. Friday is TBD depending on how the weather moves through and the condition of the fruit following. Today's picking will take a little more looking than yesterday. Much of the field was picked over - but dont let that stop you! I found some great pockets out there this morning with deep dark fruits. Especially in the Cavendish and Jewel varieties.

6/15/26:
We will be open Tuesday, June 16th from 4pm-8pm
